On Sunday, July 19, in New York, Spain and Argentina will face off in the World Cup final, where they will discuss the title of champion after a long and challenging road to the final act of the tournament. However, in this final, the World Cup trophy will not only be at stake. For the first time in the history of this competition, FIFA will reward the champions not only with gold medals, but also with festive rings.
This decision is in keeping with the well-known tradition of American sports. Each ring will be part of a limited edition of only 2,026 pieces, a symbolic reference to the year of the tournament. Of these, 30 rings will be awarded to the champion team, while the remaining 1,996 will be released as official FIFA-licensed products, giving fans around the world the opportunity to own a unique souvenir from the 2026 World Cup.
The trophy and the identity of the champions in the ring
One side of the ring will be engraved with the World Cup trophy, while the other side will be personalized with the name and identity of the winning team. Each ring will have a unique serial number, will be manufactured according to the size of each player's finger and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Immediately after the final, the captain and coach of the champion team will receive temporary rings during the trophy presentation ceremony. Meanwhile, the 30 rings intended for the winners will be personalized afterwards and officially presented at a later date, ensuring that each one is perfectly tailored to its wearer and remains a permanent symbol of this success.
