Albania will play this evening at the "Düsseldorf Arena" stadium the decisive challenge against Spain, which will decide the fate of the Reds and Blacks in this journey to the finals of the 2024 European Championship that are being held in Germany.
In the context of this very important challenge for the Albanian representative, the Municipality of Düsseldorf, with the head of the city, Stephan Keller, has organized a reception ceremony for representatives of the Albanian Football Federation and the Spanish Federation this morning.
The Albanian delegation consisted of the President of the ALF, Armand Duka, the General Secretary, Ilir Shulku, the Vice-Presidents of the ALF, Arben Dervishaj and Lutfi Nuri, the members of the EC of the ALF, Anila Basha and Pano Xhixho, as well as other officials of the AFL.
In addition to the representatives of the two federations, the Vice President of the German Football Federation, Peter Frymuth, the Ambassador of Albania in Germany, Adia Sakiqi, the Honorary Consul of Albania in NRW, Anduena Stephan, were also present at this reception in the premises of the Düsseldorf City Hall. and representatives of Albanian diaspora associations.
The President of the AFL, Armand Duka, in the welcoming speech held during this ceremony, thanked the Mayor for this reception, as well as for the contribution of this Municipality to the organization of the European finals in Germany.
" I want to thank Mr. Keller and all his staff, not only for the reception organized today but for all their contribution to the organization of the 2024 European Championship, where the city of Düsseldorf has had a major role in terms of the number of matches and the entire organization ", - said President Duka, who emphasized that Albania has found the spirit of welcome in Germany not only during this period, but also earlier, while underlining that Albanian fans have shown themselves to be more European than Europeans.
" In fact, we really need this welcome and you, together with all the Germans, have given it to us as immigrants and now as part of football. In a way we got it because we won the group. Not only our team but all our fans in Dortmund, today in Düsseldorf, in Hamburg and everywhere have shown that we are more European than Europeans. I want to especially thank my friend Peter who is here today and who has been by our side, obviously also our ambassador and honorary consul. I am very happy when I see the strength of football. I believe that nothing else would gather so many nationalities in one place to follow a sporting activity than football. In this European Championship, we are seeing that it is much more than a game ", said the head of the Albanian football government, who expressed that he believes in the National Team and in the victory tonight.
" In a match everyone will win and we want to win today. I believe that our boys will manage to please everyone who will be in the stadium and who will follow this football match all over the world. I wish you to enjoy this match today and the whole European Championship " - concluded President Duka in this reception ceremony organized by the Municipality of Düsseldorf.
