The President of the Football Federation of Kosovo, Agim Ademi, has dismissed rumors of a "break" in relations between the institution he leads and the AFL. In an interview for "Sport News" on "News 24", he emphasized that relations continue to be excellent with President Duka, despite these rumors that he has called untrue.
In the conversation with moderator Trevisa Tufa, Ademi emphasized that despite the joint organization between Albania and Serbia for the U-21 European Championship, he does not see it as a major problem, even though many fans have opposed this conversation. At the same time, he did not lack his desire to avoid Albania in the World Cup draw.
Three straight wins in the Nations League, second place in the group. How satisfied are you with the progress? How many chances do you have to win this set?
Knowing the quality of the players and the form, I would certainly be happy with qualification or first place. Appreciating our team and not underestimating the rival, considering that we lost the first game with Romania, we go to the next game against them for the win. I wish the players to be in good shape by then, even coach Foda has gotten to know the team.
Mr. Ademi, quench my curiosity, why so many "rebels" in Kosovo, unhappy players, suspensions, returns, the case of Zhegrova is only one of them, is it so difficult to manage this group?
In every national team there are regulations and if you break them, there will be sanctions. Each case has its own punishment. The part of leaving the group results in the exclusion from the collection, something like this has been done by Foda with our support. I wouldn't say there is rebellion, but all over the world, the players are in a different format. As goals do, sometimes they do things they shouldn't.
President, what is your objective? So your plan? Maybe there is a condition for Franko Foda?
It is known that we aim for qualification. With this team we have, the footballers play in France, Spain, or Italy, this makes them fit. It is normal to expect qualification, despite the first loss. I hope that we will return from Romania with victory. We want first place or we will be equal on points with Romania.
It is certain that you do not miss the stars. Recently, President Duka said that he would gladly take Zhegrova from Kosovo, but Mr. Ademi, who would you take from Albania?
Kosovo has many footballers, some of them are even in Albania. Both national teams have enough players. I wish we can continue like this. There are many names in Kosovo, there are about 200 names on the list that we have to use up that list, in order to then ask to get any Albanian footballer.
Duke has it easy because he is used to taking players from Kosovo, while I have not taken any footballer from Albania. I don't have any names that I would have activated, although most of them deserve it.
Have you followed Albania this period? What do you think about the red and black representative? What do you like, or would you like to highlight?
I followed the European, I appreciated their work, it is a great achievement of the Duke and the Federation. They have a strong team and I think coach Silvinho has done a good job. We don't have to get why he lost a game, we criticize directly, normally we have to wait for the final epilogue. I believe in Kosovo, I also believe in Albania, as far as achieving the objectives is concerned.
This period it seems as if there is a cooling, or rather there are many voices that make unflattering comparisons, publicly expressed dissatisfaction, etc. Why this negative campaign, and how are your relations with the AFL?
There is no coldness, there is nothing that can spoil our relationship. Today the Duke stayed in Pristina, during the day we are on the phone, we are very close and we do all the trips together. Rumors are more media, it's nothing real. We both consult, but make decisions separately.
President, have you communicated with the Duke about the organization of the European U-21 Serbia-Albania? Have you been consulted about this arrangement? What is your opinion on this?
It is known that we cannot apply for the organization, as we cannot meet the conditions. Winning this championship had to be done in this form, that is, with someone else. Unfortunately, Serbia fired, knowing our relations with them. I know that the Albanians of Kosovo are angry, since we have not yet closed the wounds of the war. It's their decision, so let's get on with it!
How was this decision of the ALF received by the opinion in Kosovo? Will this decision affect the relationship between the two Federations?
There will be no fluctuations between the two Federations, but it is known that the decision was not well received. This with Serbia exceeds the football part. We have problems with Serbia that have not yet ended, so this is the reason why people are affected. In Kosovo, almost every family has someone who was killed in the war, or disappeared. There is still no apology from Serbia. However, from another point of view, there is no politics in UEFA or FIFA.
Lastly, in December the draw will be made for the World Cup qualifiers, would you prefer Albania in the group?
I wish we weren't in a group. I would like us to fight on two different fronts. If we are together, we must not hinder each other. We are not allowed to play with Serbia. Whichever team we face is fine for us. We need easy rivals.
