A sad news has become public today! Legendary German football coach Christoph Daum has died at the age of 70 after a long battle with cancer.
Daum has been battling a terrible disease since the fall of 2022. In his coaching career, he has managed Cologne, Stuttgart, Besiktas, Bayer Leverkusen, Austria Wien, Fenerbahce, Eintracht Frankfurt, Club Brugge and Bursaspor, as well as being coach of Romania.
Years ago, his name appeared on the scene as a potential coach of Kosovo, but cooperation was not achieved.
Daum won the German championship title with Stuttgart as well as the German Supercup, as well as being a three-time Turkish champion and winner of the Turkish Cup and Turkish Supercup.
Germany was also declared champion of Austria in 2003 when he won two trophies with Austria Vienna.
He was due to become Germany coach after Euro 2000 failures in Belgium and the Netherlands, but Uli Hë stepped in and publicly accused him of using illegal substances.
Daum agreed to undergo a drug test and a hair sample revealed that he had consumed cocaine, so he lost his position as coach of the German national team.
