Luiza Gega triumphs in another European competition. The Albanian athlete won the 5,000 meters race at the European Team Championship that is taking place in Poland. Gega gave the time 15 minutes 32 seconds and 39 hundredths in the team championship that is being held in Krakow. In this way, Luiza once again confirms the good physical shape that the athlete has.
" It was not an easy race. The girl who came second is third in the world, she became European champion in 2018 and I knew that if I kept that pace until the end, I would come first because I know I'm faster than her. I am the fastest athlete and I felt comfortable.
I didn't want to run fast, as I was saving up for the next race, where I also aim to win. It's my main 3000m steeplechase and I'll try to do it in a fast time. It will be difficult, since I don't have strong opponents to push me, but I will give my best to win ", emphasized the Albanian athlete.
