The Serbian Football Federation has threatened to withdraw from Europian if UEFA does not punish Albania and Croatia.
The General Secretary of the Football Federation of Serbia, Jovan Surbatovic, said that they will submit a request to UEFA to punish Croatia and Albania after chanting by their fans in the match between the two national teams.
"FSS will demand the strictest measures from UEFA, even at the cost of not continuing the competition. This is outrageous and we don't want it to happen again. We want fans who shouted unacceptable slogans to be severely punished. We will appeal to UEFA for stadium events. It has nothing to do with sports and football. We don't want to politicize the championship, " said Shurbatovic to Serbian state media.
As they demand that UEFA fine the Croatians and Albanians, Serbia has been fined 14,500 euros for the racist messages of the Serbian fans in the match with England.
" We are convicted, but these are individual cases. We have been punished because of one individual for racist abuse. It's not us. We do not want to attribute it to our fans. We welcome everyone with an open heart and we are known for it. I appeal to be gentlemen against Slovenia and Denmark "– said Surbatović, and finally confirmed his intentions to withdraw from the Euro if UEFA does not take concrete steps.
The request from the Serbian Federation comes after the chants of "kill the Serb" were heard in the stadium during the Croatia-Albania match.
