Napoli has suffered a significant defeat in the title race, losing 0-2 to Lazio in the match held at the "Diego Armando Maradona" stadium, valid for the 33rd week of Serie A.
The capital team started the match quite aggressively, taking the lead in the 5th minute. After a quick move and an assist from Kenneth Taylor, it was Mateo Cancellieri who sent the ball into the net.
In the 31st minute, Lazio had the chance to double the lead when Noslin was fouled in the area by Lobotka and the referee awarded a penalty. However, captain Matia Zakanji failed to score, as his shot was saved by goalkeeper Milinković-Savic. The first half ended with the visitors leading 0-1.
In the second half, Lazio continued at the same pace. In the 56th minute, another quick counterattack was completed with a goal by Croatian midfielder Toma Basic, sealing the final score at 0-2.
After this defeat, Napoli remains in second place with 66 points, allowing Inter to move closer to the championship title. On the other hand, Lazio climbs to 9th place with 47 points.
