Did not respect the contract, Mike Tyson is sued by the betting company

Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight boxing champion of the world, is facing an expensive lawsuit from a Cyprus-registered company that promotes online casinos and betting. Medier, an online betting platform, has sued Tyson and his company, Tyrannic, for breaching an earlier advertising agreement.

According to the lawsuit, which was filed in London in October, Tyson and Tyrannic canceled an agreement made in January 2024, shortly after the Netflix special was announced in March. Medier alleges that the violation occurred because of Tyson's decision to fight Jake Paul, a bout that was sponsored by Netflix.

The gambling company is seeking damages of around 1.46 million euros (about $1.59 million) for damages it says it suffered as a result of the breach. Medier denies breaching the agreement and says her actions did not constitute a breach of contract. In the published documents, the company's lawyer stated that Tyson and Tyrannic terminated the agreement for reasons related to Tyson's commitment to fight Jake Paul in a match that was broadcast on Netflix.

Tyson's representatives have responded to the lawsuit and stated that Medier violated the contract on several occasions, and therefore, Tyrannic had the right to cancel the agreement to protect the image of the Tyson brand. They added that stopping the deal was a necessary step to avoid further damage to Tyson's reputation.

After his loss to Jake Paul in a match held on November 16, 2024, Tyson said that he does not rule out the possibility of returning to the ring. In a post-fight interview, Tyson hinted that he might be open to a possible duel with Logan Paul, Jake Paul's brother.
