The President of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, has stated that the Greek authorities are treating the 100 fans of Dinamo Zagreb as if they were prisoners of war.
He said that the fans were dispersed in prisons to be beaten and raped. Croatian hooligans were arrested after the riots they caused in Athens where 29-year-old Greek Michalis Katsouri was killed.
The Croatian president argued that this attitude of the Greek authorities has nothing to do with law, democracy and respect for human rights.
" The law is not respected. They treat these people as prisoners of war. If I were prime minister, I would think about what I could do. It is not simple. It looks like the law of war. They are treated like a prisoner of war ", Milanovic emphasized.
