
Aston Villa extended their winning streak against Bournemouth to six matches, after achieving an easy 4-0 victory at Villa Park today.
Villa opened the scoring in the 28th minute through Buendia who made it 1-0. Shortly before the end of the first half Villa would find the second goal through Onana who would seal the score 2-0 in the 40th minute.
In the second half, Barkley would make it 3-0 for Villa, after a goal scored in the 77th minute. When it seemed that Bournemouth had capitulated, Aston Villa struck the final blow in the 82nd minute through Watkins to seal the score at 4-0.
With this victory, Villa ranks seventh with 18 points, the same as Bournemouth who is in ninth place.
On the other hand, Brentford achieved an important 3-1 victory against Newcastle United in a match filled with emotions and dramatic twists.
It was Newcastle who scored first through Barnes in the 21st minute. This would be the only goal of the first half. As the second half began, things would take an unexpected turn for Newcastle. Brentford would equalise in the 56th minute through Schade to make it 1-1. In the 73rd minute, things would get worse for Newcastle as Burn received a second yellow card and left the team with a man down.
Taking advantage of this advantage, Brentford scored twice more. Thiago scored the 2-1 lead with a penalty in the 78th minute. In the second half, Thiago would score again to make it 3-1.
With this victory, Brentford ranks in twelfth place with 16 points, while Newcastle is in fourteenth place with 12 points.
The other match between Crystal Palace and Brighton ended peacefully with a score of 0-0. Both teams took one point despite trying for more.
With this result, Palace is ranked tenth with 17 points, while Brighton is one place lower with 16 points.
On the other hand, Nottingham managed to defeat Leeds United 3-1. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw, with the goals scored first by Nemcha in the 13th minute for Leeds and two minutes later Sangare would equalize everything.
In the second half, Gibbs White would double the score for Nottingham in the 68th minute. Then in the final moments of the second half, Nottingham would win a penalty which would be converted by Anderson, sealing the score at 3-1.
With this result, Nottingham is in 19th place with 9 points, while Leeds is in 16th place with 11 points.
