Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will face Italian side Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final to decide who will take home the continental title.
In tonight's match, each of the teams will write history, bringing their fans the most prestigious European cup.
The match will feature the first official meeting between PSG and Inter in UEFA history, but it will also be the first time UEFA will not have a club from England, Spain or Germany fighting for the title since 2004.
Under Spanish coach Luis Enrique, PSG reached the final after eliminating Arsenal 3-1 on aggregate, with victories both home and away. The Parisian club is chasing a first UEFA Champions League trophy, which has eluded them despite coming close in recent years.
If the Spanish coach's team defeats the Italian club, Enrique will become the 6th coach to win this competition with two different clubs.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference, Enrique expressed confidence that his players are ready for the historic match.
What could be more motivating than the fact that the club has already secured the Ligue 1, Coupe de France and Trophée des Champions titles?
When asked about his players' readiness, Enrique commented: "this is a team that is quietly used to playing finals, these are situations we have been in and experienced already, so yes, the mental aspects and motivation are important, but we are used to this."
Inter reached the UEFA final after beating Bayern Munich and Barcelona to reach their second Champions League final in three years, with Italian coach Simone Inzaghi targeting the prestigious trophy in tonight's grand event.
"I'm happy here at Inter. I feel good and I have everything to do important things at this club," Inzaghi said in his pre-match press conference.
He added, "I've seen determination and not the obsession that shouldn't be there," when asked about his players' determination. "Instead, there has to be the right focus and determination, and that's what the boys have shown me these days," he said.
