Hansi Flick had words of appreciation for Xabi Alonso, following his dismissal as Real Madrid coach. The German, who maintains a good professional relationship with the Basque coach, avoided judging the Madrid club's decision, but highlighted the difficulty of the coach's job in Spanish elite football.
" They acted like that at Real Madrid, but it's not my job and I don't want to talk about it," Flick said, before explaining the connection with Alonso: "I have a very good relationship with Xabi, we met at Leverkusen when I was the national team coach and we have been in contact ."
Flik underlined that such situations are a natural part of professional football: " The job of a coach is very complicated, we have a lot of responsibilities. Dismissal and dismissal are part of our profession, so we have to live with this ."
He expressed confidence about Alonso's future: " You have to accept these things in football and I wish him the best. Surely, there will soon be a big project for him and his staff ."
Flik ended his statement with clear support: " Football is like this, you have to move forward and know where to improve, but Xabi is a fantastic coach, he has a great future ahead ."
