From the 'Duboçica' stadium in Leskovac, the national team coach, Silvinjo, spoke to the media on the eve of the match against Serbia, which will be very important not only for the fate of the qualification for the World Cup, but also for the future of Silvinjo. The national team coach himself touched on this issue at the press conference held in Niš, saying that he is happy with the work he has done in Albania.
Your most important match in charge of the team?
All matches are important. Today yes, this one is more important. A month ago it was the one with Latvia, if we didn't win this tomorrow wouldn't be worth it. Then we have Andorra next. The challenge tomorrow is emblematic, it can be felt in the atmosphere and this was also seen in Tirana.
Attack and goals?
As for the match, it's beautiful to play. We had three and a half fast days of training, talking and analyzing the match. We worked in two phases, in attack and defense. The goal is the last part of football. All the players are ready and tomorrow we will choose the names for the field. I don't care about the goal, it's the last point. I have faith in the players and I know that we will do our best on the field.
Do you have any surprises for tomorrow? The Serbia coach said he knows how you will play on the field...
We also know how they will play. Three in defense, two wingers, three in midfield and attack. I won't say about surprises, we also have a training session.
A match like a final, what are the chances of our victory?
Football is unpredictable. That's why we don't bet. I'm a coach who played at high levels as a footballer. I haven't seen a team win before the match starts. The rivals are a strong team that play at high levels. In Tirana (0-0) we saw that we were on the same level, in football anything can happen.
The red and black players' form is not good, is this their last chance?
Tomorrow we have the most important match, this applies to the next matches. The atmosphere is good. We have a group of players and I don't care about their moment, but that they enter the field and give their best. Even if we win here and don't keep up the pace, it's not worth it. We learned at the European Championship and I have faith in the names I have called that they will give their best on the field.
A different match for history, is there pressure in the group and how is it being handled? This duel decides second place in Group K
We here and the footballers are used to pressure. We have been playing since we were 15, then we have the derby. I was born in Sao Paolo and I played in London. We are here, we have our fate in our hands. Whoever wins tomorrow goes to the play-offs. We are calm and ready for victory.
Serbia's strongest points and are you afraid you could be dismissed with a loss?
The first question is good, for the second I think about the future. I have been in Brazil, with Arsenal, with Barcelona and in Albania I feel very happy about my job.
Serbia has very good players, a physical team, in the one-on-one game they have quality. I remember Brazil - Serbia in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, you had a good team because I was part of the Brazil staff. I can tell you the names, but that doesn't matter. Both Serbia and we have many strong players and this makes the game more beautiful when we go out on the field. Hoxha, Manaj, Broja, Asani, Laçi, Daku, are very qualitative.
How are the two teams today and three months ago? How do you want to motivate the players?
This is a beautiful thing in the National Team, unlike clubs. It's a different methodology, everything changes. This is a moment when the players come at their best, unlike June when the championships were over. October and November are the months when the players can be in their best shape, or get injured. Luckily we don't have many injuries. The scheme how they play in their clubs and the one in the National Team are different.
I have a letter, but I can't show it right now (laughs). We also work with the team on the psychological side.
You called 55 names and you put 44 of them on the field. Before this duel, is there anyone who will 'steal' the starting jersey tomorrow?
"What you say is right, we have the doors open for players. Cake and Gripshi are the two latest approaches. Klisman is doing well, I like Gripshi. It is a big responsibility to have this team, I try to make the best choices. We have also taken names from the U-21 before. I want names that have experience at the moment," said Sylvinho.
