Tottenham have officially appointed Igor Tudor as the team's new manager until the end of the season. The announcement was made public via the London club's social media, with a short message: " Welcome Igor ."
The Croatian takes over at Spurs at a delicate moment for the club, who are 16th in the Premier League, just five points above the relegation zone. The sacking of manager Thomas Frank came after a run of poor results left the team in a difficult position in the league.
Debut in the North London derby
Igor Tudor's first match in charge of Tottenham will be the much-anticipated north London derby against Arsenal next Sunday. The challenge is seen as a crucial test for the new manager, who will immediately face one of the club's main rivals.
In his first statement to the club's official channels, Tudor said he considers it an honour to join Tottenham at this stage of the season.
" It is an honour to join this club at such an important time. I understand the responsibility that has been given to me and my focus is clear: to bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match. There are quality players in this squad and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results as quickly as possible ," Tudor declared.
Return to the bench after leaving Juventus
The 47-year-old has been out of work since October 2025, when he was sacked by Juventus after a seven-month spell in charge. At the time of his departure, Juventus were eighth in Serie A and had gone eight games without a win.
Tudor has a rich playing history with Juventus, where he won two Serie A titles during nine years in Turin. He began his coaching career in 2013 with Hajduk Split in Croatia. Since then, he has managed several clubs in Europe, including Galatasaray, PAOK, Udinese, Marseille and Lazio.
Tudor's appointment is seen as an attempt by the London club to stabilize the team and avoid the risk of relegation from the English football elite.
