SPAK decided to open another important unsolved file from the past, that of January 21, 2011, when 4 citizens were killed in the opposition protest on the Boulevard in front of the Prime Minister's Office. The Special Prosecutor's Office announced that it has officially launched investigations into 3 criminal offences; "murder in other qualifying circumstances" committed in cooperation, "abuse of duty" and "Performing actions that prevent the discovery of the truth".
The procedure has started for the murder of Aleks Nika, as well as the wounding of citizens Artes Dybeli, Ilia Qesko and Ilia Papa. According to the Reasoned decision that was revealed just a few days ago, the Supreme Court reminded SPAK that it is obliged to reveal the state's responsibility.
Genc Gjokutaj, Sali Berisha's lawyer, spoke about this issue. He stated that the case of January 21 was investigated in detail, but only in one direction, since according to him, those who carried out the attack were not investigated.
Gjokutaj says that he hopes that SPAK will start the investigation of the organizers of the attack on the prime minister.
"We must support the discovery of the objective truth. But the matter in question has a specificity, this is not an uninvestigated and unjudged matter. It has also been investigated for the sake of political clashes, as we have to admit that in all major legal issues, politics is involved. This issue was investigated in detail by Ina Rama, former General Prosecutor, and the Americans also helped with expertise for this.
This case has remained uninvestigated because this case has gone against the legal technique of the investigation. In that case, only the defenders of the institution of the Prime Minister's Office were investigated, no investigation was conducted for the organizers of that attack, where dozens of guards were injured and tons of inert materials were thrown into the courtyard of the Prime Minister's Office. I hope SPAK starts here: Who were the organizers? Who was the purpose? What did the organizers undertake? This is in relation to the violence, and the issue must be related to the other object", said Gjokutaj for "A2 Cnn".
