The well-known lawyer, Romeo Kara, revealed for the first time the scorching evidence that will sink the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, former prime minister Sali Berisha and several other "VIP" characters for the "CEZ-DIA" affair.
The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, warned two days ago that very soon we will have sensational news about the "CEZ-DIA" affair, as the Special Prosecutor's Office will start "cutting off heads".
The first to risk arrest is former president Ilir Meta, who was summoned for the first time on February 22, 2023 within the Special Prosecutor's Office and was questioned for three hours. It is suspected that he was involved in corruption and money laundering, devouring the money of Albanian citizens during the time when the current head of PL was the Minister of Economy in the "Berisha 2" government during the years 2009-2011.
But as far as this mega-affair is concerned, the lawyer Kara also spoke yesterday, who, during a statement for the "SOT" newspaper, warned of earthquakes about this scandal", where if it is thoroughly investigated by SPAK, according to him, the Meta-Berisha couple are only one step away from prison.
"I think that SPAK has all the possibilities, the evidence and the facts to take this case to the Special Court for trial, that's why I really appreciate Mr. Dumani's optimism regarding further developments. If the case is sent to trial, the chances that Meta, Berisha, Ismailaj, Nepravishta, Roman, Hejsek and Pleskash will be found guilty of abuse of office, illegal influence, theft through corruption and money laundering are numerous. If the case will be investigated and judged strictly in accordance with the law, facts and evidence, I believe that Berisha will also face the law, as he was aware of Meta's illegal actions, but did not report them. It is enough to remember his statement in the Albanian Parliament in September 2015, when he declared that, Meta traveled to Prague with Ismailaj without authorization to negotiate with CEZ executives there regarding the CEZ debt collection contract from DIA. I am fully convinced that he has been aware of this affair in real time and has consumed at least inaction with harmful consequences for the public economy. It is not surprising that he had an even more active role in this affair", he declared.

"Some of the evidence are: the testimonies of Jozef Hejsek and Elvis Mataj, where they confirm that we are dealing with an affair, the involvement of Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha through their dolphin Kastriot Ismailaj, Meta's trip to Prague together with Ismailaj, the decisions of ERE under Meta's influence, which favored CEZ, as well as the interview of Ismailaj's wife, who unequivocally states that Ilir Meta pressured Ismailaj to pressure the leaders of CEZ to give him a large amount of money in exchange for ERE's decision to come under his influence.
