Theologian Justinian Topulli has commented on the video published by Hoxha Ahmed Kalaja, where he is seen in a luxury car, emphasizing that although luxury in Islam is not prohibited, it is necessary to maintain a balance between well-being and modesty.
According to Topulli, wealth should remain a means and not an end, and modesty is a core value of religion. He stressed that excessive display of luxury can create jealousy and division among believers, stressing that this can negatively affect the message and essence of religion.
He appealed for a cautious approach, especially for clergymen, in the way they present wealth in a society where economic differences are pronounced.
" Luxury in Islam is not considered something forbidden or something haram. But at the same time, there needs to be a balance or a kind of equilibrium between the need that man has to live in this world: his well-being and modesty, so man will be modest in essence, beyond the fact that God may have given him a certain blessing of wealth or whatever else. He must be modest, because in essence wealth is a means and not an end in itself, moreover, modesty is part of religion and part of faith.
Not only this, but the effect that can have a negative effect on the believer himself, but also on them. We are talking about followers or other believers, it has a negative effect, for example, it creates, we are talking about envy or jealousy, or it creates a kind of division and hatred between those who have and those who do not, or they show a kind of indifference to that person, who has wealth and wants to expose his luxury, while it seems that he does not care at all about the rest, especially in a society like ours where the differences in wealth are great, we have people who are very rich, while there are people who barely make it through the month, or in words, there are economic difficulties, so this must be seen, it must be seen by the believers and they must not fall, we are talking about, prey to social networks, especially, we are talking about, clerics or imams.
"A person should be modest in his behavior, of course without denying himself the blessings that God has given him, but as I said a little earlier, if they give too much importance to appearance, the value and the message of the essence that religion contains will be lost ," he said via a Skype connection to MCN.
