The Special Court of Appeal has upheld the sentence of 2 years of probation for the former judge of Elbasan, Zamira Vyshka, who is accused of corruption.
The court also decided "The removal of the right to exercise public functions", for a period of 3 years.
As for the lawyer Ilir Pashaj, who was suspected of giving an amount of 400 thousand ALL to the judge, the Appeal finally imposed a sentence of 2 years in prison, which due to the abbreviated trial goes to 1 year and 4 months.
Judge Vyshka was arrested in July 2022 by order of SPAK together with lawyer Ilir Pashaj, as she was accepting bribes of about 400,000 lek, to reduce the sentence of prisoner Xuliano Musai, accused of wounding, by 6 months.
According to the investigations launched in 2021, the judge initially requested 2 million ALL, but then increased the request to 4 million.
SPAK received the information about this case of corruption in an operational way and thanks to interceptions, after they were alerted about this case of corruption. Lawyer Ilir Pashaj, arrested together with Vyshka, plays the role of mediator to offer money to the judge. Meanwhile, citizen Taulant Ramollari communicated with Pashaj, Musa's lawyer.
