The United States Embassy in Tirana has issued a warning about the potential risk of attacks by groups linked to Iran on Albanian territory, emphasizing that targets could include both US-linked entities and Iranian opposition elements located in the country.
The announcement notes that these groups may also target public spaces and areas frequented by citizens.
"Iran-linked groups may target entities affiliated with the United States or elements of the Iranian opposition in Albania. They may also target common locations, such as tourist sites, shopping malls, hotels, clubs, and restaurants," the Embassy said in a statement.
American authorities are urging their citizens to exercise increased caution and be vigilant for any suspicious situations.
"We encourage American citizens to exercise increased vigilance," the US Embassy emphasizes.
