The former mayor of Lezhë municipality, Fran Frrokaj, who has been on the run since December 23, appealed to the Supreme Court after the Appeal decision that returned him to prison.
Frrokaj asks the Supreme Court to suspend the sentence given by the Special Court of Appeal until the review of the appeal in the Supreme Court.
The former high official must serve 2.8 years in prison for abuse of office. The first level of the GJKKO has sentenced him to 1.4 years in prison, but the appeal doubles it. The police, after receiving the execution order, carried out checks but did not find him in the apartment.
Fran Frrokaj, at that time the mayor of Shënkoll municipality, along with other former officials, favored the registration of 82 real estates for some people.
Frrokaj was sentenced to 2 years in prison also by the Shkodra court, which is again related to the alienation of properties in the area of Rana e Hedhun in Shengjin. He was released from the cell some time ago, after taking advantage of the amnesty, but now he will be back in prison again.
