The arrests of 7 lecturers, who are suspected of having misused their duties, have brought chaos to the development of the teaching process at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education at "Aleksandër Xhuvani" University in Elbasan.
In all departments, the situation since the beginning of this month is unusual as the mass arrests of lecturers have created a huge gap in the ranks of the academic staff.
The leaders of the "Aleksandër Xhuvani" University and those of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education have not only not given explanations for the current situation, but also did not react after the police operation "Teza" where a group of lecturers were arrested as never before in the Universities of Albania .
Even still, no preliminary analysis of the situation created after the arrests at "Aleksandër Xhuvani" University has been developed and there is no official reaction, at least to condemn the phenomenon of corruption.
Meanwhile, the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Elbasan has announced that it has scheduled the session for "Validation of arrest and setting of security measures", on Tuesday of this week. During the inspection, the exam theses of the 31-year-old student, who had passed all the exams of the fall season, were found and seized by bribing the lecturers through a realtor.
Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, after the denunciation made to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Elbasan for a case of abuse of office by irregularly passing the exams to a 31-year-old student with the intention of received sums of money, organized and finalized the coded police operation "Teza".
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the lecturers have misused their duties, irregularly passing the exams to a 31-year-old student, in order to benefit from sums of money that citizen Gazmend Hodaj took.
From the control in the teachers' offices, the theses of the student's exams and other documents related to the corrupt case were found and seized as material evidence. The procedural materials were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Elbasan, for some criminal acts.
