The Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla and the Minister of Justice Ulsi Manja have gone to Shengjin where they are seeing the fire situation closely.
Balla spoke about the massive fires that engulfed the coastal area. He said that the situation is quite serious as he added that the wind favors the flames and does not allow the fire to be extinguished. Balla said that he has asked for help from Slovenia as they have the capacity to put out the flames.
He also informed that he has asked for help from KFOR to bring the helicopters to Shengjin. The minister said that according to the preliminary assessment of the State Police, we are not dealing with a deliberate arson.
"I had a communication with the Slovenian minister, they have the opportunity and capacity to support. The Minister of Defense is in contact with KFOR to bring helicopters to this difficult operation.
If the wind stops, things will change for the better. In the conditions of this wind, all our work is impossible to give the result that we all want. Let's not forget that it has been fighting here for more than 24 hours without stopping and we need to move some of the firefighters to other fire areas. There are 5 active foci.
According to the preliminary assessment of the Police, we are not dealing with a deliberate arson ", said Balla.
