The residents of Bërxulla have come out in protest today, as a sign of opposition to the construction of the Thumanë-Kashar road.
It is learned that the residents also took their children to the rally, while the latter boycotted the school today.
The latter with placards in hand with inscriptions 'You are killing our future', 'Property is our wealth', etc. they blocked the road.
In the meantime, the residents are sitting on the street resisting and blocking the traffic of cars.
"The state should give us answers", says a resident of the area. Meanwhile, the police intervened to remove them from the road.
"Don't let anyone touch us", the residents say to the officers, who have made it possible to clear the road.
A protester has lost consciousness and is being taken to the hospital after not feeling well. The resident was put unconscious in the officers' car and accompanied by another person who was participating in the protest is being sent to the hospital.
There is a large presence of police forces at the scene.
Residents claim that they have not received any notification regarding the road construction project or the expropriations. According to them, the company Gener2, which won the concession, started work on the ground without a construction permit and in violation of the law, stressing that the compensation offered is ridiculous. They have requested that the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) initiate investigations into the project.
Their protest has been going on for almost a year now, escalating from time to time in the blocking of one of the streets of Rinas and clashes with the police.
