An officer of the Traffic Police in Lezhë has been suspended from duty, due to his unprofessional behavior with a German tourist, while on duty.
The officer, after having punished some girls, German tourists, with an administrative measure of 1000 lek, for driving with visual technical defects, continued talking with them.
He asked the driver for Instagram. After they became friends, he also asked them to take a selfie and post it on Instagram, tagging it.
"Regarding the unprofessional behavior, during the performance of duty, of the Traffic Police employee in the Local Police Directorate of Lezhë, inspector R. Xh., during communication with a German citizen, the Directorate of Professional Standards in the General Directorate of the Police of The state has immediately suspended the police officer and initiated disciplinary proceedings against him.
Meanwhile, the General Director of the State Police has ordered the immediate transfer of this police officer from the Traffic Police Sector to another State Police structure.

On 10.06.2024, at the intersection of Tales, the police services stopped the vehicle driven by the German citizen JW, after finding that it was driving with one of the vehicle's lights on. After communicating the reason for the detention, the police services found that the citizen did not know Albanian and therefore they communicated with her through Google Translate. For the violation committed (driving with visual technical defects), provided by article 79 of the Highway Code, the citizen JW was punished with an administrative measure of 1000 ALL.
The foreign citizen agreed to pay the administrative measure immediately (in hand) and therefore, in accordance with Article 205 of the Highway Code, the administrative measure was halved to 500 ALL. These actions are documented with the administrative measure sheet and with the collection mandate for the payment made.
