The Mayor of Shkodër, Benet Beci, promised financial support to 80 merchants affected by the burning of the market where they had been working for 22 years.
He stated that first an agreement with the owner of the land will be needed, then the municipality will draw up the project for re-opening the market.
"Let's sit down with the gentleman who owns the land and see if we can make a plan proposal for the land, to return it properly, to the market it used to be, but more orderly and safer. Let's turn this bad into a good one", said Beci.
The merchants thanked the mayor for the readiness shown on the day of the fire and asked for help in putting the market to work, which was completely destroyed by the fire.
The used clothes market was engulfed in flames on Friday afternoon, while in relation to the incident, the police have identified two minors as the culprit.
Shkodër Municipality, on the other hand, has started the full verification of the damages of the houses affected by the fire.
