Journalist Erl Murati has commented on the interrogation of Sali Berisha for the first time by SPAK about the 'Partizani' affair.
The fact that Berisha appeared before the courts, for Murat, this shows that he is obeying "legal fate" as he has no other choice.
Murati said that his appearance in SPAK shows that the rule of law functions.
"This shows that the investigative process against Berisha continues and apparently Berisha is also obeying his legal fate by deciding to respect the institutions, even though there was harsh political language, I believe that the prosecution will do its job. This seems like something extraordinary that we are not used to seeing Berisha at the door of justice, but this shows that the rule of law is functioning. This is the right way, respecting the institutions, and then it remains for the court to prove it", Murati told Report TV.
According to the journalist, Berisha felt compelled to appear at SPAK as he risked the harshening of the house arrest measure again if he ignored the institutions of justice.
"We have a kind of forced compliance because this thing could escalate to other, stricter measures. Decided to ignore the submission obligation measure. We cannot say that he is a model citizen who respects the institutions, but begins to feel the weight of the law on his back. As long as the law calls him, he is obliged to respect it", said Murati.
He also commented on the start of work on Electoral Reform.
"The Electoral Reform will be approved with the votes of Rama and DP. I know there is a cause from the re-establishment for PD as a traitor. Here, every political actor sees his own interest, it is in Basha's interest to approve the electoral reform with a single electoral district. Everyone here plays for themselves. The new reality is a three-polar policy. Basha is collaborating to approve a reform that suits the DP", he continued.
