The Acting Mayor of Himara Municipality, Jorgo Goro, appeared today at the Special Prosecutor's Office.
Jorgo Goro continues to hold the office of the Mayor of Himara, since the mayor elected by the citizens on May 14, Fredi Beleri, is in the cell for buying votes and there is no possibility to take the oath under these conditions.
We remind you that Fredi Beleri's lawsuit against Jorgo Goro, former minister Xhaçka and her husband for illegal land use has also been clarified earlier.
Therefore, Jorgo Goros has two findings, the main one is that of the official report of the High State Control which has evidenced some doubts regarding the violation of equality in tenders but also with certain investments in the city of Himara, during the time where Goro held the post and the third term of the mayor of Himara.
Also attached to these findings is a report by Fredi Beleri, who from detention has reinforced the rumors not only of abuse of office, but also insists that there are other violations related to Goro's duties and powers as the mayor of Himara. Fredi Beleri has been arrested after being accused of active corruption in the elections.
Goro has faced SPAK prosecutors several times.
The most important finding of the High State Control concerns the construction of a resort in this area and the procedures for how construction permits were granted in the coastal area of Himara.
