The former candidate for president of the Democratic Party, Ibsen Elezi, says that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha was obliged to appear at the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK), because if he did not implement the security measure, there would be consequences.
Elezi said that Berisha asks for civil disobedience, but obeys himself.
"The moment you obey, you cannot ask others to obey. I believe this is also a war of nerves. At the first moment of Mr. Berisha's disobedience, the prosecution institution would show its strength. SPAK is a new institution of justice that had to act. Mr. Berisha would submit to this authority. Even technically, it's a waste. 74 percent believe that SPAK has results. Denying the work of these institutions is idiotic. Rama's biggest opponent is SPAK. It is not the opposition in this state. SPAK has confirmed a good part of the accusations made by the media and the opposition. A real opponent of Mr. Rama are the new institutions of justice. The Democratic Party is a big subject, it is not like the new parties. It is a castle built, not by Mr. Berisha, but by the people. Berisha has not won the battle for democracy in recent years, but has completely destroyed it. There is no enthusiasm at all. The figures no longer inspire optimism, most of the Democrats have become passive. If Berisha gathers 300 people, it is not a great merit. The undoing of the political force is more clear", he said to "Abc News".
