Thousands of Muslim believers across the country are celebrating the holiday of Eid al-Adha today, which is one of the two most important holidays in the Islamic calendar.
In Tirana, believers prayed on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard.
The prayer began at 05:45, and was led by the head of the Community, Bujar Spahiu.
Spahiu emphasized his message on social peace, helping the poor and the helpless.
He stated that a society can never be just if it is not founded on justice, honesty, and generosity.
He then conveyed messages to all levels of society, doctors, teachers, rulers, simple believers...
"With love and responsibility, let us see each other with human eyes, let us help and forgive and cooperate for a more just, more prosperous and more united society," said Spahiu.
The head of the KMSH then said that this is a day that unites our hearts in worship, gratitude, and solidarity.
“Allah says in the Quran: “When his Lord said to him: ‘Submit!’ He said: ‘I have submitted myself to the Lord of the Worlds.’” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:131)
And it is precisely this sacrifice that teaches us today: that faith is not just words, but deeds; it is not just ritual, but a sincere commitment to being more just, more honest, and more merciful at every step of life.
Our religion teaches us that faith is not complete without social sensitivity.
Our worship is not pure if it does not include responsibility towards others.
And our society will never be just if its foundations do not rest on divine values: mercy, justice, generosity and honesty," said Spahiu.
