The process of recounting all ballot boxes in the Tirana district for the May 11 elections, following the initiative of two KAS members, could also lead to the arrest of hundreds of commissioners or counters of major political parties.
Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu, while noting this detail, also raises concern about how, even 35 years later, the major parties not only steal the votes of Albanians, failing to preserve them, but also of their candidates within the party.
" I contacted the CEC and the procedure foresees the announcement of a new result after the recount. Which means that there will be a new result. The CEC is obliged to announce the new result of the recount, regardless of the findings. It also sends SPAK the deformed materials or minutes, the ballot papers, and takes them to the Prosecutor's Office through legal channels to investigate and process them according to the violations committed and Article 326 of the Criminal Code, which provides for 3-7 years in prison according to the violations found. If these irregularities with vote diversion are found, no matter how much, hundreds of DP and SP commissioners in Tirana risk going to prison and being arrested by SPAK ," Spahiu explained about the process that will take place after the KAS decision for the capital, the recount of all the boxes.
But Spahiu also raised concerns about the moral crisis of political parties, especially the DP, which not only does not protect the votes of Albanians with commissioners, but also steals its candidates.
" The DP has opposed the OSCE-ODIHR for the electronic counting in Tirana. Together with the SP, it is responsible for all the votes of Albanians, even those of parties that did not have commissioners, because they have commissioners. What do you expect from these parties when they steal their own deputies, what can they do for others or how can they protect the vote of others. Well, you have no respect for others, but for your deputies, how can you possibly have no respect, you have even gone from village to village to divert their vote. This is directly related to the party's responsibility because the CEC itself is a party product. How can this happen even after 35 years. How can you compete and go to the elections in 2029 with this situation, how can they protect our vote, it is absurd. These people have made whomever they wanted deputies, if you are not in their shoes, you cannot enter. The game continues between them, they have the system. Now this was clearly seen, the DP and not "He only massacred those on the open list and protected those on the closed list, it seemed ," the lawyer commented to Report TV.
