The blockage of the Librazhd-Përrenjas axis has also had consequences for the emergency medical service departing from the Korça Regional Hospital towards Tirana. Due to the inability to use the usual route, ambulances are forced to follow the alternative Maliq-Lozhan-Moglicë-Gramsh route.
This road segment is narrow, with numerous curves and infrastructural problems in some parts, which forces emergency vehicle drivers to reduce speed. As a result, transport time is extended for patients who need treatment or specialized intervention in the capital.
According to hospital sources, an average of two ambulances a day depart from Korça to Tirana for cases requiring more specialized services. In such situations, every minute is considered vital, while the forced diversion is creating concern for medical staff, patients and their families.
Under these conditions, it is emphasized that problems in road infrastructure are directly affecting the healthcare chain, adding uncertainty in emergency cases where time is a decisive factor.
