The Population and Housing Census has started today. The process will continue for 6 weeks, where over 7,500 surveyors, supervisors and controllers will be in the field.
The director of INSTAT, Elsa Dhuli, said that the process has started without problems and the first interviews have started.
Among other things, Dhuli emphasized that 5,240 surveyors have been engaged and in total, together with the monitors, the number of engaged persons reaches 7,500.
"The process started at 8 am. Groups of surveyors have gone to the field, the first interviews have begun, and I am personally following the process with great interest. In case the family is not there when the surveyor knocks on the door, he will leave a letter informing them of the visit. There will be 5240 surveyors, but all the staff who will simultaneously monitor the entire process will be 7500 people", said Dhuli.
The 2023 Population and Housing Census will be the 12th Census, since Albania was declared an independent state in 1912, where the first Census was carried out in 1923.
