The head of the PDIU, Shpëtim Idrizi, described the census, which started on September 18, as dangerous, due to the declaration of ethnicity.

According to him, the risk is great for areas such as Himara. Idrizi said that only 365 people who come by bus from Greece are needed for Himara to be declared a minority area and to benefit from the language, flag and signs in Greek.

Article 7 states: The data on ethnic minorities are in the right of self-identification of these persons and in the civil status documentation.
