Actor Laert Vasili made some strong statements regarding the visit of Greek Defense Minister Nikos Dendias. According to him, he is from the Himara area.
" Why do you call him Dendias? Dedja has it, he's from Vuno ," Vasili said during discussions in the studio.
He also recounted an episode related to a media visit to Corfu, where, according to him, a lawyer originally from Vunoi was interviewed.
" When they went to Corfu to get an interview from a famous lawyer, there was one named Dedja and he was holding a bust of Skanderbeg. He said he was from Vuno and that his ancestors had fought alongside this brave Arbër ," Vasili declared on "News 24".
According to the actor, Dendias himself has admitted his origin from the Himara area. "Dendias himself says it's where he believes he originated. Himara was the name of the whole area down there," he said.
Further, Vasili also commented on the political history of the Greek state, describing it as built on Arvanite influence.
" Greek politics is to take off its hat, it is the deep state of Arvanites. This deep state of Arvanites, with the Ali Pasha fund, with which the Greek national bank was created, was established with Ali Pasha's wealth by some Arvanites and they believed that they were making a new Orthodox Albania against the Ottomans ," he declared.
Vasili stated that Dendias, at the time he held the position of Minister of the Interior of Greece, had intervened to protect the theater where the play "Corpus Christi" was being performed, following threats from right-wing extremist groups.
" Art is a precursor. Here is the person in question. Nikos Dendias was the Minister of Interior when the theater was burned down in 2012. Nikos Dendias brought in 350 special forces so that Golden Dawn wouldn't burn down my theater. Why did he do it? Because he was Albanian ," Vasili said.
The actor referred to the events of October 2012 in Athens, when he faced strong threats and violent reactions from members and supporters of Golden Dawn, after staging the play "Corpus Christi", which Vasili directed.
At that time, far-right groups protested outside the theater and there were strong tensions due to the content of the show, while the Greek authorities deployed numerous police forces to guarantee security and the continuation of artistic activity.
