A citizen has brought to the editorial office of "Pamphlet" a serious concern about the conversion of the first floors of residential buildings into funeral homes, which, according to him, are turning these areas into unlivable environments.
The denunciation highlights that such activities often take place without specific permits and with the protection of municipal leaders, despite the fact that the law prohibits the opening of mortuary businesses in residential centers.
" The presence of coffins and funeral services in front of the apartment, mourners in a heavy emotional state, blocking the entrances from cars, incessant noise and generators that pollute the air have turned our daily lives into anxiety. This is not only an aesthetic issue, but also a mental health and safety issue for children and the elderly ," the complainant writes.
According to him, this phenomenon brings down the value of properties, creates constant stress among residents and transforms a residential building into a business space that does not match the nature of the community. " The law prohibits this activity near residential areas, but in Tirana these businesses are flourishing under the protection of officials. Someone needs to take action ," the citizen concludes in his complaint.

Please investigate the funeral homes built mainly on the first floors of residential buildings, which have turned into gangrene and are choking citizens in their daily lives.
These businesses are operating without specific permits, under the protection of the mayors, as this type of activity is not allowed near residential centers, let alone inside apartment buildings; there is a special VKM for this.
I am listing the problems that this phenomenon causes in the lives of citizens:
-Negative impact on well-being and mental health: The constant presence of coffins and funeral procedures, and people mourning in front of the apartment, brings a heavy emotional state, especially in children, the elderly and people suffering from anxiety or depression.
-Serious risk to life and safety from irregular parking and increased vehicle traffic: Numerous cars coming for visits and services block residents' entrances and exits, are placed irregularly on streets, sidewalks or children's spaces, creating a risk of accidents and impeding the movement of emergency vehicles.
-Lack of ethics and respect for residents: The building is a living environment, not a business related to death. The presence of such an agency conflicts with the ethics and social sensitivity of a residential community.
Loss of property value: The presence of a business of this type in a residential building significantly reduces the market value of the apartments and makes it more difficult to sell or rent them.
-Noise and inappropriate activity: The activities of the funeral agency are accompanied by movements outside normal hours, noise from loading and unloading, the use of generators inside the building that causes asphyxiating gas pollution, and the constant presence of people in a severe emotional state, disturbing the peace of the residents.
