"Barbaric violence against protesters", DP reacts harshly: Police bled

Following the tensions that occurred during the protest in front of the Parliament, the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has reacted with strong accusations against the State Police, condemning the intervention against the protesters.

In a post on social media, accompanied by footage from the protest, Berisha wrote that the protesters were raped by law enforcement.

"The protest is bleeding. After the bloodshed, the drug police wash their hands like Pilate! I condemn with the utmost severity the bloodshed of peaceful protesters!", wrote Berisha.

His reaction comes after the Democratic Party announced earlier that its deputies would not participate in this Thursday's plenary session.

The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, also reacted through a post on social media, accusing the Police and the Guard of having exercised violence against citizens in the area around the Parliament.

According to Noka, the officers entered the premises near the Parliament and escorted citizens who had whistled at the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja.

"I strongly condemn the violence that the drug police and guards have exercised against citizens who were in the cafes around the Parliament, where they were barbarically escorted to the police station, after allegedly hissing Ulsi Manja. Not even during the Enver dictatorship did it happen that citizens in cafes were massacred," Noka said.

So far, there has been no official reaction from the State Police regarding the Democratic Party's statements.
