The director of the Tirana Police, Tonin Vocaj, was asked today by journalists, regarding the indirect accusations that have been made against him, by MP Flamur Noka, that he is part of the interceptions in the "Metamorfoza" file.
Vocaj said that he has no knowledge about this information, however he assured the journalists and the public that in his 40-year career in the state police, according to him, he has had no connection with criminal groups.
"I have no further information within the Metamorfoza operation, I was the director of the criminal police, I want to guarantee you that in the 40 years I have been in the state police, I have had no contact with individuals with criminal records, and I was not even their contact in the police", said Vocaj in the conference with journalists.
Vocaj has been one of the leaders of the state police, who has held various ranks and positions within the structure, where he has been serving for 40 years.
In the Metamorfoza file, the interceptions of which are being investigated by SPAK, sites including senior leaders of the state police are rumored.
In addition to Oltion Bistri, the former operational chief, already arrested by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office.
As part of the 'Metamorfoza' file, the strategic investor of the Rama government, Përllumb Gjoka, was also arrested.
