Former KLA fighter Dritan Goxhaj said that the gesture made by the Albanians of Albania in 1999 by sheltering 800 thousand Kosovars in their homes is even greater patriotism than that of the Kosovars themselves towards their country.
He showed that even during the war only 12 thousand people joined the KLA, while each political force in the country had hundreds of thousands of supporters.
"When the Albanians of Kosovo were expelled and came and the Albanians of Albania did a patriotism, greater than what the Albanians of Kosovo could do because they were in danger in their country. Citizens from all over Albania went and took Kosovo Albanians into their homes, this is patriotism," said Goxhaj on the Now show.
Indeed, nationalism and patriotism are two different things. Goxhaj said that nationalism is an activity like what he and other fighters did who took up arms and went to fight for the freedom of Kosovo, while patriotism is a philosophy of life.

Patriotism is a life philosophy, it is to respect the law, the state, freedom of speech, today we have people who corrupt and are corrupted. Our politics is all folklore, but these people know the difference between patriotism and nationalism, so they are hypocrites ", said Goxhaj.
