General Aleksandër Pando spoke about the opening of the air base in Kuçovo. In an interview for "Euronews Albania", he said that F-16 aircraft of the American Forces will land at the Kuçova base.
The general indicates that the Bajraktar drones that Albania has will be used for civil purposes but also for defense.
"The Kuçova base, where it was designed by NATO, was designed as a base to support NATO's tactical combat aircraft. We had F-16 planes of the American Forces which will land at the air base of Kučova. We will also have transport planes that can land. The air base of Kuçova can serve as an entry point for the troops of the Alliance that will come to our country for training, activities and then to go to other countries.
The three Bajraktar drones that we have can be used for civil purposes because they are equipped with cameras, they can help the population, but they are also used for defense as they will be armed. We have personnel in Turkey who are being trained to use these," said the General.
