Prosecutors' bodyguards are doubled after the increase in threats, the RES

Special bodyguards have been doubled to protect prosecutors and judges who are threatened by crime or the corrupt.

From 49 forces, the new structure of the Special Protection Unit has turned into a super unit with 103 people. The armored unit, otherwise known as RES, was proposed by the general director of the Police Muhamet Rrumbullaku and signed by the Minister of the Interior Taulant Balla.

Both officials were earlier in one of the meetings of the KLP for the measures that need to be changed not only for the preservation of the lives of the prosecutors and judges but also for the security perimeter of the buildings.

Police officers who will protect threatened prosecutors and judges have a duty to serve throughout the country, and this change is reported to have been approved urgently immediately after the growing demands for taking into custody the men of justice, two of whom the crime threatened them by placing explosives in the car, and others such as Doloreza Mudabelliu and Merita Selimi where Laert Haxhi's criminal group planned to attack them.

The Special Protection Unit has its own budget and provides for another special operational unit structure.

With the exception of the head of SPAK Altin Dumani, who due to his duty is guarded by the Guard of the Republic, Irena Gjoka as special chief judge has four officers of the guard due to the function and two more were added after the court decision in the "Partizani" file.

Seven prosecutors and judges are currently in custody due to threats and strong cases under investigation. /TCH
