Bulqiza Police have filed materials with the Special Prosecution Office regarding the incident that occurred on April 24 during an electoral activity, where it is suspected that Democratic MP Xhelal Mziu and his nephew raped Kalosh Murra.
In addition to the police material, Xhelal Mziu has also filed a report with SPAK, claiming to be the injured person, while a citizen who claims to have been raped during the incident has also filed a report with SPAK.
Investigative actions will be carried out by prosecutor Elvin Gokaj, who has been assigned to the Dibër district to investigate election crimes or to monitor this area until the day of the parliamentary elections.
In the coming days, Prosecutor Gokaj is expected to review the three reports and then conduct investigative actions as well as summon the persons involved or who were present at the scene, in their capacity as declarants.
The Democratic MP, one day after the incident, reacted officially and requested from the Special Prosecution Office to seize the security cameras at the location where the incident took place and to thoroughly investigate the incident, as according to him, the chairman and representatives of the Democratic Party in Bulqiza were raped.
Mziu accused the police, saying that they have become parties to this criminal event, due to the fact that the Dibra police director has family ties to the father of SP candidate for deputy Jeton Dani.
The incident occurred on April 24 after an electoral meeting held by the Democratic Party in the village of Ostren. The police referred the material to SPAK for the criminal offense of "Threat or violence against election participants."
The municipal official claims that the Democratic MP grabbed him by the throat, while his nephew punched him for no reason, in front of the administrative unit offices. A video of the violence against Murra is circulating on social networks, but it should be noted that the footage filmed from a distance does not clearly identify Xhelal Mziun.
Meanwhile, the Democratic MP claims that the event was manipulated by the Dibra police, as according to him, the participants were intimidated and raped during the electoral meeting in Ostren. Another video is circulating on social networks, where according to him, Jeton Dani, the father of the socialist candidate, Murat Dani, physically attacks the chairman of the DP in Bulqiza, Shaqir Manjani.
