The secretary of the Ministry of Health was accidentally discovered to be taking bribes for awarding a tender.

In the session that lasted 90 minutes, lawyers Antoneta Sevdari and Emir Bleta asked for a lighter measure for their clients, but that was overturned by the jury.
The request was rejected after interceptions and evidence presented by the prosecution. It is learned that SPAK is conducting investigations on another issue, namely on abuses with tenders, and had put several other officials of the ministry under surveillance. But the person in question had communications with the ladies and then they were intercepted and the BKH investigators saw that there was talk of tenders and bribes. Investigations were then launched and concluded with the arrest of two ladies. But the fact that SPAK has put other officials in the Ministry of Health under surveillance shows that we may have other arrests in the department headed by Manastirliu.
Officials of the Ministry are accused of passive corruption, after taking 330 thousand ALL bribes to favor a private company for winning a tender. It is about the supervision of the reconstruction of health centers in Tirana and Durrës districts worth 805 thousand ALL.
The investigations revealed that the amount of money was first given to the engineer Silvi Shehi by Vladimir Topi, in his apartment and then sent to Laura Shteto, who was the person who knew and kept in touch with the secretary of the Ministry. The amount of money was found in the secretary's office, immediately after the arrest by the police.
