Endri Shabani retorted with Prime Minister Edi Rama, as the latter called them "watermelons without proof".
In a status on social networks, Shabani ironized Rama as he said that they were looking for watermelons from the year '98 in the market, but the sellers told him that they were all rotten.
"Eddie, I saw you compare us young people to 'watermelons without proof,' but we can come out unripe."
Look what happened to us. We went to the market today to look for watermelon that has been there since 1998! They tell us not to get tired because those of 98 are all rotten.
Now we may be inexperienced, but you, Edi, are proven in corruption. And I'm not talking about the evidence that SPAK may have collected on you, because it's an investigative secret and I have no way of knowing about it.
I talk about what we have tried on our backs as a people. So much so that, since you came to the head of the government, hundreds of thousands of young people have left this country.
We are untried, really. But we have proven to you that every day that you are in power, you increase the cost of living for the middle class, and multiply the wealth for those three or four of your oligarch partners.
Albania has tried "patriotism", seeing how you have sold the lands of this country for refugee camps, for holy places, or tourist resorts.
We young people have no experience in awarding public tenders, stealing the state budget, or privatizing the wealth of Albanians.
We don't know about these things. We don't even have experience in selling laws to oligarchs or selling deputies to criminal groups. But our honesty is proven in the work we do.
As teachers, lawyers or journalists, we do our work with responsibility and honesty. We are also activists who have been protecting Albania from you for 12 years, without being afraid or selling out.
Therefore these young watermelons can be really without proof. But the season has come...", says Shabani.
