After the changes in the government, Ervin Hoxha took office as Minister of the Interior, where according to him the priority will be the reform of the Police leaders.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, presented the new Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, in a ceremony held at the Ministry of the Interior.

During his speech, Hoxha briefly listed some priorities as Minister of the Interior, starting from comprehensive reformation in the State Police chain of command, technological development to prevent criminal events and increase public security, or improving the behavior and ethics of the police force in relationship with citizens.

He said that a significant part of his career is closely related to duties in the Ministry of the Interior and the State Police, first as an employee, manager and now as a holder, which increases the sense of responsibility for this duty.

"The new law on the State Police will enable us to implement a deep reform in a restructuring and efficiency for the police services, in the control of the territory", said Hoxha.

Former Interior Minister Balla considered it a great honor to serve as Interior Minister.

He listed some achievements in this one year in office, starting with the approval of some important legal acts, such as the one for the State Police, the law on Civil Status, or the finalization of the draft law for the recovery of assets obtained from crime.

Furthermore, he mentioned concrete results such as the School Security Package, or the operations against narcotics and the illegal possession of weapons. According to Balla, the Police's self-cleaning process is giving results every day.
