Journalist and analyst Agim Baçi has commented on the latest political developments in the country.
He considered the SP Congress as a "populism show", as he added that Rama replaced political figures with technical ones.
According to the analyst, the move of Taulant Balla from the Ministry of the Interior was a surprise, while the resignation of Lindita Nikolla from the position of Speaker of the Parliament served as a "moving stone" to finalize the changes.
As for the opposition, Baçi said that Berisha owes it to the Democrats to put his ego below the party, paralleling his case with that of American President Joe Biden, who, despite having the base behind him, withdrew for the good of the party.
"The Congress had a start, a peak and an end. The beginning was Helena, a young girl with whom Rama told the others that they can easily be replaced by young people. At a time when the right has problems attracting people, Rama says this. The second was Xhafaj, who said during the congress that the justice reform will be monitored, even though he admitted that it is to expand it, not monitor it. Rama replaced political figures with technical figures in time. SP has ceased to be a group that engages in political debate. There is no debate, there is no election in the forums. There is no place in the world where the prime minister blames only his deputies and ministers. He was voted by the Albanians to build a responsible government. Rama has lost his modesty. It loses the meaning that it is there to serve. This megalomania shows that he is surrounded by people who do not tell him the truth.
Balla was the surprise, a very important political man. Everyone is surprised, only Spiropalus may have known. Even Nikola's resignation, I think, served as a stepping stone for everything. Today, even the SP is in danger of ending up in a sect, not a political party. This in front of an opposition with its own problems.
The only honest thing Ahmetaj could do would be to testify for justice. During his interview, he attacked Altin Duman more. Albanian institutions have not thought at all about the law. A man who regrets does not say that he will do another interview. Are you waiting for a deal? How does the fact that you will make public today in two weeks differ?
Berisha owes it to the Democrats to put the ego below the party. He cannot give Rama to say that he is against the one who has problems with justice etc. Biden retreated to America. He had the delegates' votes to run. A leader does that. Berisha should not even lead the DP today. In politics, it's not just about having the votes, it's about the rest of the Albanians. It is not only the US and UK's non-grata, but also of Albanian citizens.
How can you give this prime minister the luxury that after these scandals he should not stay in power for a day? Berisha and others there should have had the courage like the American democrats had. No one questioned Biden if he had the Democratic base.
I don't know what Basha will try. Euro-Atlantic Democrats does not make much sense. Basha had great chances. What has been missing in the opposition has been debate with ideas. Ideas are defeated by ideas, not numbers. You will defeat Rama, defeat with ideas. DP no longer has membership with debates. How will you address Albanian citizens in 2025? DP is not putting forth an alternative. There is no alternative to that of Bardhi with swearing. There are ambiguous people there, they are either with Berisha or with SPAK. You cannot be pro-Berisha and pro-SPAK. It does not hold", said the analyst for "News 24".
