What happened on March 15?
March 15, 2008, at noon at 12:05 a powerful explosion shook Tirana, while its crater was marked a few kilometers away in the village of Gërdec in Vorë. As the minutes passed, what had happened was unimaginable, 26 dead and over 300 injured and 100 houses flattened. These were the consequences of the explosion in the state ammunition dismantling workshop owned by businessman Mihal Delijorgji. Today, 15 years later, that explosion is still fresh in everyone's memory.
This event ended at the doors of the Albanian courts, but today for 26 dead and 300 injured there is no person behind bars. There were people who died inexplicably, there were witnesses who escaped, soldiers who received political asylum, but justice was never brought to the family members.
