GJKKO has decided to confiscate the assets of Gëzim Cafi, convicted of murder and possession of weapons without a permit.
The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime, at the request of SPAK, decided to seize some assets of Gëzim Cafit.
The latter was convicted in 2005 for premeditated murder and possession of weapons without a permit.
According to the decision, a land-type asset with an area of 900 square meters and a three-story building with a total construction area of 900 square meters that served as a bar, restaurant and hotel were seized. The assets are registered in the name of Violeta Cafit, and are suspected to derive from criminal sources.

In addition to the exercise of criminal prosecution, the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has ensured that its focus is also on the identification, sequestration, and confiscation of assets, which are suspected to be derived from crime.
Pursuant to Normative Act No. 1, dated 31.01.2020 "On preventive measures in the framework of the fight against terrorism, organized crime, serious crimes and the consolidation of public security order", the Special Prosecutor's Office has addressed the Special Court of the First Degree for Corruption and Organized Crime, with the request for the confiscation of the assets of the subject Gëzim Cafi, declared guilty, with the decision no. 44, dated 26.09.2005, of the Court of Appeal of Serious Crimes, for the commission of the criminal offense "Premeditated murder", committed in cooperation, remaining in the attempt, "Possessing weapons and ammunition without permission", provided by Articles 78, 22, 25 and 278/2, of the Criminal Code, and related persons.
At the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with decision no. 9, dated 22.06.2023, among other things, decided the confiscation of real estate, as follows:
Property of the land type, with an area of 900 m2, which is located in Shkodër, in the name of the person related to the subject/citizen Violeta Cafi;
The three-storey building, with a total construction area of 900 m2, with the destination Bar - Restaurant - Hotel, which is located in Shkodër, in the name of the person related to the subject/citizen Violeta Cafi.
