SPAK has today confiscated the assets of Raul Zenunaj, convicted in Italy for drug trafficking.
Raul Zenunaj was arrested as part of the "Spring Flowers" operation in February 2019, which was spread across Albania in several cities, in Durrës, Vlora and Lezhë, while four cases of trafficking were documented. In total, over 3.3 tons of cannabis were seized in both countries. In Italy the operation took place in Calabri, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Sicily and Lombardy.
The investigations lasted two years. The 27 arrested persons, including Raul Zenunaj, have been accused of creating criminal organizations in international drug trafficking from Albania to Italy. Drugs from Albania were trafficked to Italy and then distributed to other European countries, including Germany and Switzerland. The criminal groups were based in Lecce. Raul Zenunaj was arrested in Italy.
Similarly, the prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Vlorë, has registered property proceedings against persons with the initials AM and SB announced as international wanted suspects for the criminal offenses of "International Narcotics Trafficking" and "Criminal Organization" by the Italian authorities.

On 01.06.2023, in the Special Court of First Instance against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, the trial ended regarding the request of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime for the confiscation of the assets of the subject of Normative Act no. 1 date 31.01.2020 "On preventive measures in the framework of strengthening the fight against terrorism, organized crime, serious crimes and the consolidation of public security order", amended, in relation to the subject Raul Zenunaj and persons related to him.
According to the conclusions given by the Special Prosecutor in the previous court hearings, with the decision dated 01.06.2023 the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, has decided, among other things, the confiscation and transfer in favor of the state of assets on which was seized by decision no. 49 dated 05.01.2021 of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana:
1) Property of the "Unit" type with a total area of 70 m², Vlorë Municipality, purchased by the subject in 2012 in the amount of ALL 6,944,000;
2) Property of the "Unit" type with a total area of 50 m², Vlora Municipality, purchased by the subject in 2012 in the amount of ALL 4,960,000;
3) Movable property, vehicle brand BMË type GM730D, owned by the subject Raul Zenunaj, purchased by the subject in 2014;
4) Pasurisë së llojit “Arë”, me sipërfaqe 5000 m², aktualisht në pronësi të shtetases E.S.
5) Pasurisë së llojit “Apartament”, me sipërfaqe 159 m², Bashkia Vlorë, në pronësi të shtetasit V.Z, e blerë në vitin 2010 në vlerën 8.107.092 lekë.
6) Pasurisë së llojit “Truall”, me sipërfaqe 105 m², Bashkia Vlorë, në bashkëpronësi të shtetasve V.Z dhe A.M, e blerë në vitin 2013 në vlerën 1.100.000 lekë.
7) Pasurisë së llojit “Apartament”, me sipërfaqe 171 m², Bashkia Vlorë, në bashkëpronësi, të shtetasve V.Z dhe A.M, e blerë në vitin 2013 në vlerën 10.500.000 lekë.
8) Pasurisë së paluajtshme “Shtesë 4-katëshe”, me sipërfaqe totale të 4 kateve 640 m², në bashkëpronësi të shtetasve V.Z dhe A.M, Bashkia Vlorë. Nga ekspertimi i kryer në gjykim rezulton se vlera e investimit për pasurinë “shtesë 4-katëshe” është 20.216.320 lekë.
9) Property of the "Bodrum" type, with an area of 181 m², "Kushtrimi" Neighborhood, Vlorë Municipality, co-owned by citizens VZ and AM, purchased in 2013 for the value of 7,700,000 ALL.|
