New details have been revealed from the issuance of 15 SPAK arrest and investigation warrants for the Tirana incinerator.
Journalist Klodiana Lala said that a fraction of the file has been shared, which raises suspicions that other former officials may be involved in the Tirana incinerator case.
She also stated that it has been proven that Mërtiri and Zoto are not only de facto owners, but have used people to hide their tracks.
"Referring to the file, it results that the Municipality of Tirana in 2015 applied for the Sharra landfill. It was about the Sharjah landfill option. Later, the Ministry of Environment, led by Lefter Koka, proposed the work increase and then it was finalized. This contract has cost the Albanian state about 100 million euros. In the investigation file, it appears that all the officials of the ministry, the municipality of Tirana had no e-mail contact with the citizen Klodian Zoto, since together with Mërtir they are the de-facto owners of the incinerator.
It has been proven that Mertiri and Zoto are not only de facto owners, but have used people to hide their tracks. It turns out that they then benefited from millions of euros.
It is learned that a fraction of this file has been shared, as this investigation is considered incomplete. It is thought that other officials and former officials may be involved ," said Lala.
