Albanian convicts in the prison of Corfu on hunger strike, We are being

Convicts in the prison of Corfu in Greece have been on hunger strike for a week. Among the 100 prisoners, 60% of them are Albanians, who from the cell in Corfu complain about the bad conditions they face, as they claim that they are not given permits and conditional releases even though they have fulfilled all the necessary legal conditions.

They say to "News 24" that they will continue the strike until their voice is heard and they claim that their lawyer has been arrested and put in a psychiatric hospital. According to them, they are being discriminated against because they are Albanian.

The Albanian prisoners also appeal to the Albanian state to take an interest in the Greek authorities so that their demands are met as the law provides.

"If I take you from the prison of Corfu, we are here for a week on hunger strike for the laws that do not apply to us and the rights of release, the first. We fill out the permit and they don't give it to us. Delays make us extreme, punishments at maximum unfair. Especially we foreigners are treated inhumanely. They give permission to the Greeks directly. The Minister of Justice to make a move. They don't take our letters", they declare.
